‣ A system that reproduces colors by mixing appropriate amounts of color paints on white paper. These paints reflect certain colors and absorb - or subtract - others. The primary subtractive colors are red, blue, and yellow. „Red„ as used in painting is technically a magenta color, and „blue„ is technically a cyan color. See also primary color.
